Considering China's many island militarization projects across the East and South Sea, ANBOUND chief researcher Chen Gong suggests that the series of projects actually has formed a defense chain from East Sea to South China Sea, which includes an entire island chain strategy. The strategy can not only increase China’s power on geopolitics, but strengthen and expand the sea area under China’s control, so that to boost China’s real maritime influence and strong position that can not be ignored. Besides, China’s valid sea area would be significantly increased. This is to say that China has worked out a new approach under the geo-pattern through expanding sea power by land power.
