ANBOUND chief researcher Dr. Chen Gong put forward the concept of original Eco-industrial zone for the first time in China. The concept is meant to solve the issue of rising commodity price due to urbanization and tourism development. It is also aims to protect the original features of the local industry. According to Chen Gong, the commodity price is surprisingly high due to urbanization and tourism development especially at the impoverished areas. It is a threat to the local income level but failed to find a good solution for a long time. Another problem is that homogeneous industry reduces the competitiveness of local industries. Mr. Chen highlighted that original Eco-industrial zone is a kind of protective space development that ensures low cost and low price besides support local industries as well as creates employment in a certain area.
